Dance City Academy

The Dance City Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) delivers two main strands of dance activity for young people between 8-18 years of age.

Our Foundation Training Programme (FTP) is the outreach arm of the CAT. The programme provides dance training to gifted and talented young people between 8-13 years of age at satellite hubs around the North East region. These FTP’s are managed in partnership with local authorities, schools/school sports coordinators, dance agencies and many others.

Our Advanced Training Programme (ATP) is run in partnership with the Department for Education (DfE) to provide a high level training for extremely talented young dancers between 12-17 years of age. Currently all classes take place here at Dance City in Newcastle as well as in Darlington.

We have a Facebook group set up for all students who are part of the Centre for Advanced Training. If you have ever studied on the Advanced Training Programme or the Foundation Training Programme please click here to join us on Facebook and keep up to date with new opportunities:

We also work closely with Gateshead College to deliver their National Diploma Dance Course. Click here to visit the Gateshead College website and find out more about the course.

A brand new website for all the Dance CATs has just been launched, showing information about all nine centres in England. Check it out at www.nationaldancecats.co.uk.
