The Dance City Academy delivers two main strands of dance activity for young people between 8-18 years of age.

Our Foundation Training Programme is the outreach arm of the Academy providing training to youth ages 8-13yrs at satellite hubs around the North East region. These FTP’s are managed in partnership with local authorities, schools/school sports coordinators, dance agencies and many others.

Our Advanced Training Programme is run in partnership with the Department for Children, Schools and Families to provide a high level training for extremely talented young dancers ages 12-17yrs. Currently all classes take place here at Dance City in Newcastle as well as in Darlington.

G5 Dance Company

G5 Dance Company is the Dance City Academy’s touring company, consisting of ten final year students from the Advanced Training Programme.

G5 will be touring annually throughout the region with a programme of four commissioned works. At the same time each performance will be shared with local youth dance companies, as well as regional Academy Foundation Strand groups.
