Bad Taste Cru - A History
The Bad Taste Cru hail from Omagh, Northern Ireland, but are currently based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. The BTC have been together since 1990 as a graffiti and skate cru, but got into BBoying in late 98' and have been dancing ever since. The BTC is one big family of BBoys, skaters, writers, MCs, friends, film makers, outcasts, geeks and weirdos; a group of best friends and relatives from a town in the middle of the troubled country of Northern Ireland. We share a common bond thru the love of Hip Hop culture and being misfits and outcasts from our peer groups. We immersed ourselves in hip hop culture as a means of escaping other negative influences in our lives.
We discovered BBoying through Irish BBoy legends the Belfast City Breakers, who schooled us in the foundation of the dance, and without their direction we would not be where we are today. Our whole cru has now relocated to the UK for various reasons such as university studies, employment opportunities and also to try to learn more through experience: by battling, training with other crews and travelling to jams.
Our aim is to represent our cru, our friends and families and honestly express ourselves and our country in the world of BBoying.
