Dance City is delighted to announce that Neville Campbell will be taking over the leadership of the CAT as Head of Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) from September 2014.

As of 31 August 2014 Julie Campbell will be stepping down from her role as CAT Manager at Dance City.

Julie has successfully led the CAT since 2010 and has helped shape the programme into one of the leading CAT’s nationally. The quality of the course is outstanding with high numbers of students going on to join prestigious national and international dance companies.

Neville has been teaching on the CAT since it began and has a wealth of experience in leading dance activity. Neville has all the required skills and drive to take the CAT forward onto even greater achievements.

Julie who has been part-time Curriculum Leader for the new BA (Hons) Dance Professional Practice Degree over the past year will now take this role on in a full time capacity from September.

Anthony Baker, Artistic Director and Joint CEO of Dance City said:

“It is extremely exciting times in the development of Dance City. Julie will be missed in her CAT role but in moving to lead the Gateshead College Dance degree she is taking all her knowledge and expertise to develop the next leaders and performers in the dance industry and still working alongside Dance City.  Julie’s passion and determination are incredible.

I feel extremely happy and confident that the CAT is being passed on to safe and capable hands with Neville Campbell. Neville is a celebrated international choreographer and teacher and previously Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance, Tumbuka Dance Company and Scottish Dance Theatre.

Our courses are of an extremely high quality and these two new appointments will ensure we are able to continue to provide the very best in dance education.”
