Ashtanga Yoga is an energetic, challenging class using breath-linked movements.
During this class you will focus on your posture, connecting traditional yoga postures and breathing exercises to dictate the length of time held in the position.
Ashtanga yoga stands for eight-limbed yoga and is an ancient system of yoga popularised by K. Pattabhi Jois which is often promoted as a modern day form of classical Indian yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of Yoga that was taught by Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta. This text was imparted to Sri T. Krishnamacharya in the early 1900’s by his Guru Rama Mohan Brahmachari, and was later passed down to Pattabhi Jois for the duration of his studies with Krishnamacharya, beginning in 1927.

How to book
All classes are now available to book in advance, either online or via the Ticket Office. Alternatively you can pay at Ticket Office before the class starts but we would ask you to check availability with Dance City to avoid disappointment.
