Classes
Delirious is for budding contemporary dance students who would like to develop performance skills. You will develop your contemporary dance technique whether you’re a complete beginner or have done some dance before.
This class begins with warm up exercises that focus on stability and leads onto travelling work as well as exploring choreography. Also, you will learn enjoyable sequences that will get you jumping and moving across the floor.
Contemporary is a genre of dance that is connected to ballet, modern dance and emerged in the 1950s. Martha Graham is often regarded as the founding mother of modern dance. Graham developed her own dance technique that hinged on concepts of contraction and release. Merce Cunningham was a student of Martha Graham's who gave birth to a new era of dance, contemporary. He was considered the first choreographer to develop an independent attitude towards modern dance and defy the ideas that were established by it.
