Description of a typical class: A full ballet class including 45 minute barre and a full range of centre and travelling work. A vibrant and swiftly paced class with a focus on correct alignment, flow of movement and performance. Piano ballet music sometimes mixed with alternative tracks from the pop and theatre world. A knowledge of studio etiquette is required.
As part of Dance City’s continuing commitment to supporting professional artists, the IGNITE programme offers pro classes, pro workshops and pro seminars amongst other events and activities to locally-based dance makers from the North East.
A professional is someone that has completed a dance degree or is earning a living through dance.
Please be aware that guest artist’s open classes may replace these professional classes.
