Arts Award
Dance City is a newly-announced Arts Award Welcome venue and is proud to support the Arts Award scheme, helping young people aged 11-25 in their development as artists and arts leaders.
Arts Award Welcome organisations support young people by offering activities, events and placements, helping them to achieve aspects of their Bronze, Silver and Gold level Arts Award qualifications.
Dance City’s AAW offer includes:
- A range of dance-based activity within Newcastle and throughout the region as a whole including classes, workshops and activity at the Youth Dance Hubs.
- Opportunities to meet dance artists, choreographers and staff members through post- and pre-show discussions.
- Space to practice and platform opportunities to develop dance work, workshops and performances.
- Bespoke opportunities throughout the year to join existing projects and events relating directly to the Arts Challenge and Arts Leadership programmes.
- Signposting young people to dance resources across the region such as the North East Dance Training Directory and the North East Dance Practitioners Directory.
