Learning and Participation Officer – The Customs House

The Customs House is the premiere arts and entertainment centre in South Tyneside and has a national reputation for its work with young people and regional accolades for its theatrical productions, musical entertainment, and multi-award-winning annual Pantomime. The Customs House’s vision of Arts and Entertainment for All includes supporting our communities to take part in arts and culture. Projects for all ages take place in our gallery and rehearsal spaces, schools and around South Tyneside.

Their work with local communities is only possible thanks to regional and national partnerships. These partnerships include strategic work on the Arts Award with Culture Bridge North East; the Arts in Libraries programme at The Word for South Tyneside Council; and The Cultural Spring with Sunderland MAC Trust, University of Sunderland and Sangini.

Partners who have generously funded their work include: South Tyneside Council, Arts Council England, Port of Tyne, Youth Music, Historic England, the Heritage Lottery Fund; Paul Hamlyn Foundation, The Hays Travel Foundation, Rotary Club of Jarrow with Harton, Barbour Foundation and the Community Foundation.

Salary                                £21 000 per annum

Type of role                      Full time, permanent

Hours of Work                 Based on a 37 hr week.

Holidays                           31 days per year (including public holidays)
