13/01/12 James Wilton creates work with Northumbria University's Dance: Choreography students

James Wilton has been creating work with Northumbria University BA (Hons) Dance: Choreography third year students this week at Dance City. James has taken the students through an engaging and creative process as they embark on their final semester.

The students have had an exciting and inspirational week with James. Their week has been a mixture of improvisation, body conditioning, and floor work as well as in depth discussions on religion and philosophy.

One third year student said,

He really makes you think of the choices you make as a choreographer, whether they be positive or negative.

James Wilton graduated from London Contemporary Dance School and created his first professional work The Shortest Day in 2009. This piece went on to be performed nationally and internationally and became the winner of Sadlers Wells Global Dance Contest.
