19/10/12 Smith Dance Theatre present Agnes and Walter: A Little Love Story

Smith Dance Theatre comes to Dance City this November for a love story of long-term commitment, secret desires, day-dreaming and a garden shed.

Inspired by James Turber’s classic story The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, this performance expertly crosses the boundaries between dance and theatre.

This delightful performance, which set the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to light with its poignant and compelling comic story-telling, combines dance, physical theatre and live music.

“An incredibly touching piece of physical theatre” **** Fringe Review

Set to a soundtrack of cinematic scores and popular songs, a cast spanning three generations reveal that not far beyond the ordinary lies the extraordinary.

Agnes and Walter: A Little Love Story is Smith Dance Theatre’s debut production and was the vision of Artistic Director Neil Paris. Paris has worked extensively in educational and community settings with people ranging from very young to over 60’s.

Agnes and Walter: A Little Love Story cast includes physical theatre performer Dan Canham. He has previously worked with DV8, Kneehigh Theatre and Punchdrunk and performed a solo dance theatre piece at Dance City in February with 30 Cecil Street.
