Class description: Brazilian Samba Dance classes with Alé will give you an introduction to Brazilian Samba with a beginner's guide to the dance moves, the samba beats and the colours and costumes of carnival! You will learn and perfect the basic Samba steps and work each week at improving your footwork, performance style as well as your fitness.

Who is this for? This drop-in class is for anyone looking to try something new and who loves a high energy, joyful, solo style of performance. Beginner friendly!

Teacher: Alé

About the teacher Alé has been a Brazilian Samba no Pé Passista (dancer) with Leeds Capela do Samba since 2018 and over the last 6 years she has performed professionally with Samba Schools at multiple festivals, events and parades across the UK. Alé is passionate about Samba and her classes focus on building body confidence, perfecting the basic steps and bringing a taste of carnival to the North East.

What to wear
Please note that these sessions are high energy, fast paced and are heavily based around footwork. Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for dancing (ie. trainers). There is no requirement to wear a costume for these classes (but sparkles are always a bonus if you wish to wear them!)

Please let the ticket office know if you have any additional needs, if you feel comfortable in doing so. If you are pregnant, have an injury or an existing medical condition we would recommend that you seek professional advice before attending a class.
