A professional level ballet class focusing on core principles of
ballet technique. This class will include elements of vaganova
technique which focuses on use of upper body, turnout, strong
port de bras with emphasis on strength and flexibility. The class
will follow the standard ballet class structure starting with barre to
warm up the body before moving onto the centre and finally
ending with more technical/virtuoso elements such as pirouettes
and allegro. The class is designed for professional dancers and
vocational students with a good understanding of ballet technique
and terminology. This class will be delivered in a supportive
environment and each dancer is welcome to take the class to suit
their own specific needs on the day.


About Rachel:

Rachel grew up and still lives in Northumberland.
She trained in a local IDTA school as a child and
then went on to train more seriously at a local
ballet school where she gained Distinction in all
vocational RAD exams including Advanced 2. She
also trained with the Royal Ballet School as a Junior,
Mid and Senior associate. At 17 Rachel joined the
Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, where she
trained for 3 years, gaining a Diploma as a ballet
artist and teacher.
Rachel is currently a principal dancer with the
English Youth Ballet. She is also a dancer with
AVE Ballet Agency and has performed with
various string quartets and musicians
including Matt Glossop, Bloomsbury musicians
and Mercury strings. As well as dancing
professionally Rachel also teaches weekly Adult
Ballet Classes in Hexham.
