As part of her facilitation practice, Alyssa’s research focuses on physical and holistic approaches that support a dancer’s training, exploring how these practices shift and evolve in response to the specific demands of the work they are engaging with. Alyssa is passionate about community dance and is committed to curating opportunities for people to engage with movement in safe and supported environments.
Alyssa's class focuses on creating space for individuality and freedom for the dancer. Described as a 'holiday in the body', the class places choices at the forefront of the session to offer open exploration and chances to connect. The class begins tuning into where the body has arrived that day, and encouraging moving from that place through release- based movement that encourage flow and groove. Short exercises to open up the body will lead into dynamic phrases with options to explore moving in and out of the floor. Promising lots of funky moves and funkier tunes!
