About
A welcoming and supportive class where We learn about different styles of flamenco dance and their different rhythmic patterns and cycles. We spend time working on developing footwork, arm and hand movements, palmas (clapping) and body co-ordination, including learning short choreographies. Our primary focus is on dance (baile) however we also learn about the other core flamenco elements - singing (cante) and guitar (toque), and the history and culture of this distinctive art form.

What is flamenco?
Flamenco is a fiery and rhythmic style of music and dance from Andalucia in southern Spain, with lots of stamping and clapping. It is now danced around the world and has achieved the status of UNESCO “intangible world heritage”.
What do I need to wear?
You can wear jeans and trainers. However, ladies may prefer to wear shoes with a small block heel and a long skirt, men can wear trousers and shoes or boots with a small heel if you have them. If you have flamenco shoes or boots, that is great too!

Who is it for?
This is an open class- no experience of Flamenco required
