About
This class teaches partner dancing. While we must remain socially distanced, please attend with a partner who is from your household or social bubble. Please tell the teacher your name as you enter the studio. We are no longer issuing paper tickets. There is no online version of this class.

Targets: Agility, coordination and stamina.

What is it?
This class focuses on the 10 standard Ballroom and Latin American dance styles with basic technique at the core.
Explore the origins of each dance as you learn to waltz, quickstep, tango, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, cha cha cha , rumba, samba, jive and paso doble.

Caroline will lead you through step by step instruction as she dances and interacts with all group participants, putting together simple routines to practice.

This is a fun, informal way to learn and improve your technique and skills on the dance floor.

Who is it for?
Anyone aged 55+.This class welcomes the beginner, improver and more advanced dancer. While social distancing rules remain please attend with a partner from your household or social bubble.

What to wear?
Comfortable clothing and shoes (no trainers). Women should wear a mid heeled shoe (no stilettos) that supports the foot. Men should wear a smart shoe they can turn in.

What do I need to bring?
Appropriate shoes and a bottle of water.

Teacher Caroline Banks
Caroline began dancing, competing and performing aged 7 before going on to qualify professionally , teaching in Dance schools and regional venues. These days in Ballroom, she focuses on using good technique as the basis for advancement and flair.
Caroline is also a qualified Tap dancing teacher experimenting with various styles and rhythms as well as a FITSTEPS instructor (Strictly Come dancing Dance Fitness programme).

Please let the ticket office know if you have any additional needs, if you feel comfortable in doing so. If you are pregnant, have an injury or an existing medical condition we would recommend that you seek professional advice before attending a class.

Studio classes must follow social distancing rules, please keep a 2 metre distance where possible. Due to reduced capacity studio class tickets are very limited. Masks must be worn around the Dance City building. There is a possibility that you will be asked to keep your mask on during class. Go straight to your studio when you arrive. The café remains closed for now. Drinking fountains, lockers and showers are currently out of use to reduce risk of contamination. Please bring your own bottles of water, yoga mats, dance shoes and any other items as Dance City cannot supply these.

Do not attend Dance City if you have possible Covid 19 symptoms. Inform us immediately if you have attended and develop Covid 19, so that we can implement Track and Trace. We are taking every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of our staff and building users.
