People Dancing Summer School 2018

Monday 23 July – Saturday 28 July: De Montfort University, Leicester

Ready to boost your career in community dance? Then People Dancing’s 10th Summer School can give you just the lift you need.

If you want to learn more about dance with children and young people, there’s a Summer School pathway that starts with developing your somatic practice, takes in dance in primary schools and ends with Performance-Parkour (2PK). There’s another pathway for the week that’s aimed at those interested in dance for health and wellbeing, exploring repertory, dancing with older people and dance for people living with Parkinson’s, before reaching a final session with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance. There are other course options available so you can create your own unique pathway if you prefer.

When you factor in a range of morning technique classes, world-class tutors and free business skills development advice, it promises to be a week to transform your practice. You can apply to join us for a day, for a series of courses or for the full week – and it gets better: there are bursaries available for young practitioners (under 26) and other bursaries for those focusing on the development of their Parkinson’s practice!

For full programme and bursary details and to apply for a course or courses go to: www.communitydance.org.uk/summerschool or call 0116 253 3453. Choose the course(s) you want to do, fill in the application form, wait for confirmation of your place, then make your payment.

Enjoy your flight!

“Thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Summer School, just as much – if not more – than last year. Can’t wait to see what’s available next summer”
