About
Class description:
A welcoming beginner level contemporary class designed to help you build confidence and enjoy moving! Discover new introductory technique exercises each term, and bring them to life in an expressive choreographic phrase at the end of every session developed and refined fortnightly, giving you the chance to deepen your movement skills as the term progresses.
Contemporary (or modern) dance is an expressive and versatile style that blends elements of classical technique with freedom of movement and creativity. It focuses on fluidity, strength, floor work, and dynamic changes in speed and direction. Dancers explore storytelling, musicality, and personal expression, often combining technical precision with grounded, natural movement.
Who is it for? Adults of all levels.
Teacher: Cora-Jay Williams.
Cora-Jay is a working professional dance artist, based in the North-East. Her experiences are in performing and touring with various dance theatre companies around the UK and teaching/choreographing in professional and community settings.
Please let the ticket office know if you have any additional needs, if you feel comfortable in doing so. If you have an injury or an existing medical condition we would recommend that you seek professional advice before attending a class.
