Fertile Ground is the North East of England’s repertory touring dance company. Dedicated to talent development and retention in the North East and North of England Fertile Ground’s aim is to nurture, challenge and inspire a new generation of dance artists and present world class dance across the North. Renaud Wiser is Fertile Ground’s current artistic director. Rich of a professional career as a dancer with Rambert, The Gothenburg Ballet and the Ballet National de Marseille, Renaud is the co-funder of New Movement Collective and Body Intelligence collective.
Renaud's class brings together elements of contemporary dance techniques to help you achieve strong, flexible physicality, preparing your body and mind for the range and demands of today’s creative process. The emphasis during warm up is on improving alignment, core strength and movement of the back, incorporating elements of floor-based work and release. The class systematically builds towards longer, grounded phrases, integrating playful musicality and changing dynamics.
