What: Contemporary Improvisation building on Contemporary technique, exploring freedom, texture and somatic approaches. Working through mobilisation, coordination, strength and creativity. Low pressure, high joy!
Who: Open to those with some experience of contemporary dance and professionals (improver to advanced level)
Class structure:
• Guided warm up focusing on mobilisation and expansion
• Light touch strength and coordination work
• Main chunk of class exploring varied Improvisation tasks (different each week as a workshop style class)
• Sharing and witnessing as a part of class
• Guided cool down and stretch
Teacher: Eve Walker
Eve is a Dance Artist, Choreographer and facilitator living and working in the North East. Having trained at Dance City and going onto complete her MA in Dance Performance at The Place, Eve has presented her work at Stockton International Riverside Festival, facilitated for Pheonix Dance Theatre and performed in the regional tour of Lizzie Klotz' work Abundance. Through her MA training improvisation has become a priority within Eve's practice as a performer, maker and teacher having learnt from artists such as Edivaldo Ernesto, Hannes Langolf and Theo Clinkard.
