We are thrilled to welcome back dance theatre company Thick and Tight to Dance City for an exclusive workshop, peer Q&A, and live performance.
Established in 2012 by Rambert graduates Daniel Hay-Gordon and El Perry, Thick and Tight take influence from history, politics, and art to craft a vibrant mixture of dance, mime, theatre, and drag. Having developed their work from small-scale queer spaces to major venues like the Barbican, Sadler's Wells, and the Royal Opera House, they are renowned for their inclusive practice and commitment to engaging diverse communities.
The Workshop
Monday 28th September 13:30 - 16:30 (3h)
Followed by a 30 minute break then a Peer Q&A with Daniel and El 17:00 - 17:45
The session begins with an introduction to Thick and Tight and a warm-up, leading to their unique choreographic toolkits. Participants will explore how the company builds work, before learning repertoire directly from their award-winning production, Natural Behaviour.
All dance styles and abilities are warmly encouraged to join.

- Show ticket: Admission to see Thick and Tight perform Natural Behaviour live on stage at Dance City on Tuesday 29 September.
