Joss’ fast paced classical contemporary classes are fuelled by dynamic centre exercises, followed by athletic movement combinations and repertoire. The classes include structured improvisations exploring different stylistic qualities and articulate multi-dimensional possibilities.
With a strong emphasis on strength, stamina and overall technique, Joss’ energetic classes push all participants to explore maximum body connectivity and awareness through speed, musicality and performance.
Dance City invites visiting international choreographers, companies and guest tutors to lead a FREE Friday professional. When there are no visiting artists we invite a guest tutor to lead a professional class in their particular style.
Joss Arnott trained at London Studio Centre and Laban. Upon graduation he joined Transitions Dance Company whilst completing his MA in Dance Performance.
Joss has toured internationally as a dancer and founded his company Joss Arnott Dance, in 2010 which are currently based at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.
Joss is in demand as a choreographer and has been commissioned to create work on professional dance companies including Rambert Dance Company and for dance conservatoires such as Northern School of Contemporary Dance for their 30th Anniversary Graduation Showcase. Joss has additionally taught at dance conservatoires such as Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Laban, The Place and NSCD.
A Focus Group Artist for Sadler’s Wells National Youth Dance Company, Joss has worked with and produced multiple works for national Centre for Advanced Training Schemes including Dance City, NSCD, Swindon Dance, Trinity Laban, The Lowry and DanceEast. Joss also teaches professional class, intensives and residencies regularly up and down the country.
