Following the success of last year’s event we’ll be holding a taster day for people aged 55 and over on Sunday 2 October, to coincide with National Older People’s Day. This is a fun and lively event for anyone aged 55 and over who wants to try dance, and costs just £2 to take part. Whether you’re a regular dancer or completely new to dance, you are welcome to come along.

Join us to try new dance styles, sample our 55+ classes and chat over tea, coffee and biscuits with like-minded folk.  The event takes place in our theatre with plenty of space to move and socialise.

Dancing is a great way of having fun, keeping fit and active and socialising. There is plenty of evidence to support the health benefits of dance for older people. Research suggests that older people who take part in dance have overall better health, less visits to the doctor’s, improved mental health and socialise more. (Creative Scotland, 2012).

Try out a variety of styles – Tap, Ballet, Pilates, Salsa – with our friendly and professional teachers and / or come along to one of our Dance for people with Dementia or Dance for people with Parkinson’s sessions.
