Monday 19th July marks ‘Freedom Day’ in which all legal lockdown restrictions will be eased. However, we are aware of the very high numbers of Covid cases for the North East and so as Dance City, we feel this is the wrong time to relax our own Covid measure.

We will be continuing with our stringent Covid safety procedures in full, including wearing masks at all times, especially whilst participating in classes in the studio. Our cafe, showers and changing rooms remain closed until further notice, reduced capacities for classes will remain in place and social distancing must be adhered to at all times.

We do not wish to compromise the health of anyone who is associated with Dance City by relaxing the Covid rules in the way we offer our services. We have a responsibility to every user of the building to make sure that we keep our Covid safety measures at elevated levels for at least a few more weeks.

We shall review the situation before the autumn term begins in September and update our audiences and building users accordingly.

Dance City is ‘Good To Go’, a Covid safe venue validated by Visit Britain.
