A networking event bringing the dance and health sectors together to build partnerships.

Event Aims

  • To introduce health and wellbeing sector partners to the unique capacity of dance to achieve health and wellbeing outcomes in a more creative and cost effective way.
  • To give health and wellbeing sector partners an opportunity to build partnerships with the dance sector and find out more about each others work.

Programme

  • Presentation on the benefits of dance to health and wellbeing; summarising the evidence base across the lifecourse.
  • Sharing models of good practice dance programmes, which meet multiple health outcomes and offer improved return on investment.
  • Live and digital dance performances by local community groups.
  • Networking sessions for health sector partners to share their priorities and work areas with the dance sector and explore how dance can help contribute to health priorities in the North East.

The event is aimed at local authority strategic leads, commissioners and officers in public health, social care, arts and education; councillors; dance managers and practitioners; and wider health partners including Clinical Commissioning Groups and voluntary sector organisations.
