This February Dance City is proudly partnering with award winning premium drinks brand NOVELTEA to host their Spring/Summer Season Launch event, celebrating the diverse arts ecology in the local area. This will be the first time these two companies have joined forces despite their mutual creative flair in their respective fields.

The semi-annual event, attended by arts professionals, artists and members of the public will see Dance City’s Artistic Director Anthony Baker reflect on the past year before introducing the upcoming performances in the theatre season ahead with the help of some special guest performers. In the past these have included Richard Chappell Dance, Bad Taste Crew, Lo Giudice Dance and Abbott Dance Theatre. With the help of NOVELTEA, the event will provide the opportunity for guests to meet and network with artists and ambassadors of the North East contemporary dance and performance scene whilst learning about the impressive array of dance performances arriving at Dance City in the coming months.

Established for over 30 years, Dance City is the North East’s leading development centre for dance, which exists to lead and support a thriving dance environment in the region. They present a regular programme of dance performances from Contemporary to Ballet, World to Breakdance, bringing leading North East, British and International dance to Newcastle. Dance City aims to enrich the lives of the people of the North East of England through cultural dance experiences, physical activity and education, and it’s this passion for creativity and cultural enrichment that made NOVELTEA such a good fit.

Dance City is committed to celebrating local talent and it’s a pleasure to extend this to one of Newcastle’s most exciting new brands with this partnership. The quality, creativity and cultural reverence of NOVELTEA resonates with our own organisational values and I look forward to working together.” Said Artistic Director, Anthony Baker.

NOVELTEA is the world’s first alcoholic tea brand launched in April 2017 by ex-Newcastle University students Lukas Passia and Vincent Efferoth, who came up with the idea after experimenting with alcoholic tea blends in their kitchen. Made in the UK, cold-brewed, vegan, gluten-free, and free from any artificial colours, NOVELTEA’s spirits have become a quick hit among retailers and consumers. In the UK, the brand has acquired high-end advocates including Harrods, Fenwick, and John Lewis, as well as reputable awards within the Food & Drinks trade such as a Great Taste Award and Silver Medal in the Spirits Business Awards. While overseas, the business is in talks with several distributors from foreign markets such as China, Hong Kong, and Germany.

Co-Founder Vincent Efferoth commented: “NOVELTEA are delighted to be acting as the drinks sponsor for Dance City’s Spring/Summer 2019 season launch event in February. As a major cultural venue in the North East representing one of the highest art forms, we want to support Dance City’s upcoming theatre program in order to help develop further the thriving arts culture in our adopted home town Newcastle.”

Dance City’s Spring/Summer 2019 Season Launch Event will be taking place on Tuesday 26 February at 6pm with a complimentary drinks reception from 5.30pm. Find out more about Dance City, NOVELTEA and book your ticket to the season launch at www.dancecity.co.uk.
