Ballet Tutor – Dance East Centre for Advanced Training

Fee: £41.21 per hour. Travel contributions are available.

The DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training is currently looking to recruit an experienced and innovative Ballet Tutor to join the core team of expert tutors to deliver strong ballet training to young dancers who display exceptional potential and passion for dance.

Based at the Jerwood DanceHouse in Ipswich, the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training is one of nine National Centres for Advanced Training in Dance for 10-18 year olds with exceptional talent and potential in dance. Comprising of leading tutors from across the UK, this world class, non-residential dance programme supports and nurtures gifted and talented young people who are ready to make a commitment to intensive training in dance. Supported by the Department for Education the programme provides tuition to young people regardless of their personal circumstances. Graduates go on to full-time education, with many of them training at conservatoire or universities to study for degrees, diplomas and professional qualifications in dance.

With a track record of delivering high-quality dance training, the ideal candidate will possess professional ballet training at conservatoire, degree level or equivalent. They will demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to delivering ballet technique to gifted and talented young dancers and a strong understanding of their training and developmental needs.

Successful applicants will be invited to interview and be observed teaching a ballet technique class to the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training students at the Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich on Sunday 30 June, and candidates should be available on this date. The contract will start the week commencing Monday 16 September.
