Dance City hosts an annual programme of platform events for dance-makers at different stages of planning, creating and presenting their work. These provide the opportunity to show work to an audience and receive critical feedback from audience and other dance professionals.

You can find out more about how we support professional dance artists by downloading the document below.

Dance Edits

Dance Edits is Dance City’s showcase for North East based dance-makers selected to represent a snap-shot of what is happening in the region. The work will usually have undergone a period of development but may not at this stage be a finished product. Dance Edits takes place in Autumn each year.

If you would like to perform in Dance Edits please get in touch with us by emailing alex.anslow@dancecity.co.uk Dance City may also on occasion invite dance-makers to take part.

FRESH

FRESH North East scratch platform for dance is on Monday 2 December from 7pm – 8.30pm.

The event gives artists and companies an opportunity to share new work in progress in an informal theatre setting. A networking gathering with complimentary refreshments takes place for 30mins before the event, and a facilitated feedback discussion follows the live performances for artists to gain insight from the audience regarding the content and development of their work in a relaxed, supportive environment.

The line up of artists will be announced on Thursday 7 November, and we’ll update you then with the details, but for now we ask you to save the date in your diaries, and support Moving Art Management in spreading the word about FRESH North East.

Tickets are only £5 and include a complimentary drink. We encourage you to join us from 6.30pm for our networking gathering in the Social Space, find out more and book your tickets here.
