CURIOUS: ‘Starting from a different place’ weekend workshop with Christine Devaney (Curious Seed)
Cur24/25 September 2016, Edinburgh
An intensive exploratory weekend workshop with Edinburgh-based company Curious Seed, led by Artistic Director Christine Devaney and joined by some of the company’s long-standing creative collaborators including Luke Sutherland (Venus as a Boy, Mogwai) and others (tbc).
Where does the creative process start? How can we start from a different place?
This workshop is aimed at dancers, physical performers, musicians, writers, makers and any creative professionals who are keen to delve more deeply into their practice through starting from a different place. It will be a unique opportunity to venture out of comfort zones and develop new approaches in a playful and structured space.
Over two days, Christine will share aspects of her creative practice, looking into the various ways that she initiates and unlocks ideas which become the basis to create work from. The focus will be on exploring collaborative and experimental methods of working between movement, music, imagery and text.
