Technical Staff Required – Okhams Razor

Ockham’s Razor are seeking to employ two Company Stage Managers, two Technical Managers and a Production Manager for their 3 touring productions next year.

The following roles are available:

  • A Company Stage Manager for the tour of ‘Belly of the Whale’, a new outdoor show.
  • A Technical Manager and Company Stage Manager, for the creation and tour of the new indoor work ‘This Time’.
  • A Technical Manager to tour with ‘Tipping Point’ working with and assisting the Company Stage Manager.
  • A Production Manager to oversee all three productions.

 

Ockham’s Razor are an award winning aerial circus theatre company run by Artistic Directors Alex Harvey, Charlotte Mooney and Tina Koch, produced by Alison King of Turtle Key Arts.

The Production Manager will work part time, possibly two days per week, from Jan-May 2019 mainly office or rehearsal based, overseeing all three productions.

They will be responsible for liaising with the Producer, the Directors, the creative team and the Stage Management team, organising schedules, managing production budgets,  liaising with venues, organising equipment purchasing, props,  set build and equipment maintenance and show logistics.

 

The Technical Managers will go on tour and will liaise with the Production Manager and venues and plan the scheduling of the tour. They will be responsible for re-lighting, sound, and operating the show on tour. Knowledge of Qlab and ETC Nomad is essential. The TM  must have experience of mid-scale touring and a good working knowledge of venue lighting and sound control systems. Knowledge of CAD is also preferable. The TM will also need to help with rigging (no previous experience needed) as well as unloading and loading vans.

 

The Company Stage Managers will go on tour and will liaise with the Producer, Directors and Company members, taking responsibility for artist and team scheduling, set, costumes, props, meeting the venue and festival staff, selling merchandise and all company and other stage management duties. The CSM will also need to help with rigging and assembling equipment (no previous experience needed) as well as unloading and loading vans. For ‘This Time’ the CSM may need to do some counter weighting (again no previous experience needed).

The people in these roles will need to work well as part of a team, be very personable and communicative, be comfortable driving long wheel based vans, able to manage themselves, the tours, teams and the workload with initiative and good humour and in the case of Belly of the Whale not mind working outdoors.

Touring from late April-September 2019, nationally and internationally

Technical Manager for ‘Tipping Point’

Touring from Feb 2019 onwards nationally and internationally.

Rate of pay:
Above ITC/Equity minimum recommended rate, exact details to be discussed.
Per diems, accommodation and travel are all arranged by The Company.
