Open Casting Call – Preconceived R&D
We’re looking for one versatile performer to work with us on the research and development of Preconceived, a solo, physical theatre show that explores sex, sexuality and gender.
Using physical theatre and verbatim text the piece will share narratives about sex we don’t hear so often, aiming to challenge preconceptions and encourage more nuanced conversations about this central and human topic.
Application is open to performers of all genders and any age. We’re interested in performers with experience of devising, character acting, dance/movement and live/performance art. You don’t need to have experience of all these forms to apply but the performer will need to be comfortable with movement work and multi-rolling multiple ages, genders and sexualities.
Date of the casting workshop is Sunday 3 June and rehearsals will be held from 11 June to 22 June with an informal sharing held on 22 June. Performance fee is £500 per week.
To apply please send your CV and a short expression of interest to jon-luke-mckie@hotmail.co.uk by 28th of May. You can find out more about Jonluke (writer and director) and Lizzie (movement director) on their websites
