Due to social distancing instructions from the Government, Dance City Training Academy is unable to hold any more face-to-face auditions for our amazing MA Advanced Dance Performance course starting October 2020. However, this doesn’t dampen our passion for this 100% practical dance Masters and we have already recruited some incredibly talented emerging artists from auditions held before the coronavirus lockdown.
We are therefore delighted to invite you to audition via a video submission. You have until 5 June to submit your video audition, and you will then need to apply via UCAS and have an interview before an offer is made.
In order for us to accept your audition submission, you must include the following:
- Filmed Footage
- Registration Form Dance City Training Academy – MA Registration Form (2020 intake) (1)
We really do appreciate that during these extraordinary times your health and wellbeing must be a priority and therefore finding an isolated and open space might be difficult.
With this in mind we would like to offer you a couple of options to help you submit audition material. Please read carefully the requirements for your submission.
Option 1 – Studio Filmed Footage
Only do this if you have access to a studio or large space!
Your video submission MUST include the following aspects:
Contemporary Centre Work – to include floor work and standard phrasing (plus any additional work you wish to perform)
Contemporary Dance Phrase – learn and perform the phrase in this dropbox
Solo – which should be no longer than 2 minutes. Your solo must have both theatrical and physical elements.
Option 2 – Previous Footage
If you don’t have an adequate and safe space to record original footage at this time, please send some previous footage of yourself from past performances and/or within the studio.
Sending your Video Submission
We must receive your footage no later than 5 June 2020.
Please do not send your video footage as an email attachment as it may not reach us due to the file size. We suggest you use a file transfer website such as www.wetransfer.com or www.dropbox.com and send the link to email@example.com.
What happens next?
We will be in touch within 2 weeks of receiving your application to let you know if we will be offering you a place on the course, subject to interview.
Interviews will either be done via Skype or by phone depending on the developing Coronavirus situation. The days and times will be allocated once we have received your application for the course via UCAS.
Please note: Interviews can only take place and offers can only be made once your UCAS application has been received and processed.
Applying through UCAS
If you have not already applied through UCAS, you will need to use the following information to apply:
