Bowie, Bush, You? An opportunity to be taught by Lindsay Kemp
The Cultural Spring are very excited to be hosting 2 free public workshops on 23 and 24 of September at Boldon Community Association with the legendary Lindsay Kemp as part of our Autumn workshop programme.
Having not only taught David Bowie and Kate Bush to dance, Kemp has also influenced several other artists, performers, acrobats, and dancers with his expert knowledge and creativity. Over the past 30 years he has toured the world with the Lindsay Kemp dance company and with work that spans dance, mime and theater it is truly an opportunity to learn from one of the most iconic cultural figures of our time. The workshops will cover Kemp’s many influences and interests which include, Modern Dance, avant-garde theatre, performance art, traditional opera and ballet and Japanese and oriental theatre and will also provide a space for one-to-one teaching with the man himself.
The workshops are suitable for anyone with previous dance experience aged 16 years or older and spaces are limited so book HERE to reserve your place.

As part of Lindsay Kemp’s stay in South Tyneside he will also be appearing at The Customs House on the 20th of September for, An Encounter with Lindsay Kemp where he will talk about his hugely successful and long-spanning career. Expect some interesting anecdotes and incredible stories from the past 50 years as well as some captivating discussion on some of his personal highlights.
