Holiday Camp Coach – Team Durham
Team Durham Holiday Camps are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to work on sport and activity summer camps, mainly for primary school aged children. Our summer camps provide a range of exciting activities for young people from across the County aged between 4 and 18 years old. They include our popular Mini and Multi Sports camps, Tennis, Netball, Cricket, Performing Arts, Adventure, Dance and Drama, and residential Sculling Camps. Although these are our main sports, we’re also interested if you’ve got experience or a qualification in alternative sports like martial arts, handball or anything a bit different that gets children active!
Our camps this year will be running at The Graham Sports Centre (Maiden Castle) throughout summer from Monday 23rd July – Friday 31st August 2018 (excluding weekends and bank holidays)
Person Specification
Essential:
Minimum Level 1 qualification in a sport or equivalent in dance/movement
Experience and interest in some of the sports and activities on offer
Relevant experience of leading groups of children
Adaptable and able to show initiative in dealing with challenging situations
Strong communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to the role
Safety conscious and can identify control measures to minimise risk (dynamic and regular risk assessment)
Aged over 18 and have a right to work in the UK
Desirable:
Level 2 qualification in one or more sports or equivalent in dance/movement
Previous holiday camp work experience
Experience of working with different Key Stage age groups
Ability to work as part of a team and motivate others
Good sense of fun and know how to keep young people entertained
Enthusiasm and lots of energy
