Trainee Dance Artist – Dance United Yorkshire

Dance United Yorkshire’s ‘Resi/dance’ programme will provide a year-long contract for two ‘Trainee Dance Artists’ through which they will receive training and a range of opportunities to develop and enhance their skills as community dance practitioners and choreographers.

We are seeking recent graduates (within the last 3 years) who are enthusiastic about high quality community dance practice, particularly within social inclusion contexts, and have a keen interest in working with non-dancers of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.

Working alongside DUY’s Artistic Director as well as DUY Artists and external choreographers, Trainee Dance Artists will support the delivery of a new programme of creative and contemporary dance activity across the Holmewood estate in Bradford.

Ideally, candidates will have some experience of teaching and facilitation in a variety of community and education settings, as well as choreographing work for public performances.

For an informal chat about the role, you are welcome to contact DUY’s Artistic Director, Helen Linsell on 0775334098
