HR Trustee
FERTILE GROUND are looking for someone who is equally passionate about making a difference as a Trustee of a small CIC and supporting their graduate and early career dancers as they become established within the profession. You will be able to advise on employee relations, performance, contracts of employment and change management, as they relate to current practice for performing arts CICs.
You will join a friendly and dynamic trustee board, bringing a Human Resources perspective to add to the skill-set of the five trustees already appointed. Working with the Chair, the Trustee Board and the Artistic Director, you will support FERTILE GROUND in ensuring a cohesive and well-supported team. You will have experience of integrating freelance staff, interns and student placements.
Vice Chair role
The Vice-Chair acts for the Chair when s/he is not available and undertakes delegated responsibilities at the request of the Chair, where appropriate, to include;
Representing the organisation to external bodies
Dealing with urgent decisions in between set Board meetings
The Vice Chair will undertake Chair’s role either on an acting or permanent basis, subject to the Trustee Board’s decision, when there is a Chair vacancy.
Fundraising Specialist Trustee
The Fundraising Specialist Trustee will assist the Board in bringing a fresh perspective to fundraising plans, to further FERTILE GROUND’s vision and strategy and ensure that fundraising is of the highest standard and priority.
(S)he will have a good understanding of fundraising and associated challenges, an ability to monitor progress in line with the fundraising strategy and ensuring fundraising activity is carried out in legal, honest and accountable ways. The Fundraising Specialist Trustee will encourage an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and income-generation fuelling FERTILE GROUND’s delivery.
Experience of diverse fundraising practices, including statutory funds, corporate and philanthropic giving is essential. Experience of online fundraising is desirable.
