NEAD – Meet The Programmers

North East Artist Development

Fri 23 Feb 2018, 2pm – 5pm

Arts Centre Washington

Are you an artist or company trying to get your work booked? Do you have an idea or project that needs support?

Here is your opportunity to meet the programmers in person! Following the success of their previous events, venue and festival programmers from across the North East will once again be gathered in one room, ready to listen to you talk about your work, answer questions and tell you what they are looking for when booking shows.

Pitch your work…

Artists and companies from the North East can apply for a 3 minute slot to present themselves, their ideas and their work to all the programmers in the room. Pitch slots are an ideal opportunity to introduce yourself and your work – you can talk about anything from an idea you are thinking of developing, a show you are working on, or a tour-ready show you want them to book.

Please note, there will be no AV facilities – but everyone attending will be given a contact sheet to enable you to send out links/information after the event.

 Format:

The events are based around three minute presentations. During the first half, each of the artistic programmers present have three minutes to introduce themselves and provide a summary of their artistic policies. Usually at least 12 programmers from North East venues and festivals attend.

The second half offers each artist and company present the opportunity to pitch their work, as whatever stage, to the programmers present.

In the middle, there is a break during which one to one introductions between artists and programmers take place – you can sign up for these on the day, during registration.

To apply for a pitch slot:

Please complete this Applicaton Form and return it to artist.development@arconline.co.uk by 10am on Monday 29 January 2018.

If you would like to attend, but don’t want a pitch slot, please email artist.development@arconline.co.uk in order to book your place.
