We’re looking for someone who can help us to fulfil the vision, mission and charitable objects of Dance City by:
– providing a warm and friendly welcome and supporting the smooth operation of Dance City activities.
– being the first point of contact for all visitors for Dance City, and becoming responsible for providing a warm welcome for all events and activities, and dealing with customer queries.
– Training in customer service, equality, diversity and access will be provided.

Dance Officer – Centre for Advanced Training (CAT)

  • CONTRACT: PERMANENT ROLE (Zero-Hours Contract)
  • HOURS: 40 hours per week – Including some evenings and weekends
  • SALARY: £27,500 pro rata
  • LOCATION: Dance City, Temple Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4BR
  • ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Post holder reports to the Dance City CAT Manager

We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting the next generation of dancers in the North East.

As our Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Dance Officer, you’ll play a key part in helping us deliver the vision, mission and charitable purpose of Dance City by:

  • offering a warm, supportive and friendly point of contact for young dancers, parents, teachers and visitors
  • helping to coordinate and run CAT activities – from weekly training to taster days, audition events, workshops, theatre trips and more
  • supporting students’ development and wellbeing, and helping create a positive, inspiring environment for learning
  • assisting with timetables, communication, scheduling, record‑keeping and the smooth running of all CAT sessions
  • working closely with our CAT Manager, teachers, schools and venues to ensure everything runs effectively and safely
  • stepping in to support teaching delivery when required and helping us maintain a high‑quality, consistent programme

Training in safeguarding, first aid, customer care and equality, diversity and inclusion will be provided.
