Easter Camp Assistant and Summer Camp Coordinator (x 2)

Fixed Term (must be available for all dates noted in the Role Description)

Fee: £2,817 per person

Dance City is seeking two exceptional individuals to take up the Coordination of our Summer Dance Camps in August 2022.

This is a development opportunity for individuals to progress through a training and development period under the current Dance Camp Coordinators during the Easter Dance Camp before they both go on maternity leave.

Successful candidates will complete a traineeship with the Easter Camp Coordinator team as a Dance Camp Assistant, followed by leading the Summer Camps as a Coordinator in August. We are seeking to employ two individuals who will work together throughout the training and then as Coordinators, sharing the role and responsibilities equally.

Availability to work on the following dates is essential to be considered for this role:

Easter Camp                    19-22 April 2022           8.30am-5.30pm.

Summer Camp 1           1-5 August 2022            8.30am-5.30pm.

Summer Camp 2           8-12 August 2022         8.30am-5.30pm.

Dance City’s holiday Dance Camps are hugely popular, attracting over 200 children each year who enjoy full days of dance and a performance in the theatre for family at the end of each week.

We are looking for an Administration Assistant who will work directly with the Director of Artistic Programmes and Artistic Development and the Producer on our internal and external projects. This is an exciting and creative role for an ambitious young person who wants to work in the Arts, develop project management and producing skills and support artists.

Board Members

The Board of Dance City is looking to appoint new Board Members to provide inspirational leadership and strategic vision to take the charitable organisation onto its next stage of development. New Board Members will help us to ensure a sustainable business model that successfully serves our audiences, communities and stakeholders for decades to come.

Dance City is a charity and its main objective is that of promoting, maintaining, improving and educating by the encouragement of the arts. We primarily focus on dance, but touch on drama and music and many other artforms too.

These are voluntary roles and no financial remuneration is offered to any board member beyond reasonable travel expenses.

Time Commitment:

Minimum of four board meetings per year (usually late afternoon in Newcastle or on Zoom).

Annual Board Away Day.

Occasional individual meetings with Executive team or Chair.

Sub-committee meetings as required (at least quarterly)

Attendance at least two Dance City events per year.

The overall time commitment is estimated at 1-2 days per quarter.
