Apprentice Dancer (x2) Call Out for MESH by Vanessa Grasse, a Dance City and Yorkshire Commission for the Great Exhibition of the North

MESH invites audiences and passers-by to join in the making of a public ritual of togetherness in different spaces. In response to our decisive global political climate, MESH explores how a participatory choreography for a large group can bring people together. It offers an experience or interdependence and collaboration through a shared physical experience.

Who are we looking for?

  • Two apprentice dancers with good contact and improvisational skills
  • Friendly and enthusiastic with ability to work with a cast of professional dancers and community participants
  • 3rd year dance students or recent graduates
  • Good team worker and mature attitude
  • Full availability throughout rehearsal and performance dates
  • Able to work at a professional standard

We’re looking for 12 people age 18+ with good concentration and stamina. Participants will be performing for two hours, three times a day. No dance experience required.

Instructor required to deliver Girls Only class

Dance City is looking for a dance practitioner to deliver their Girls Only class at Dance City Sunderland every Saturday afternoon during term time, starting in April 2018.

The classes run every Saturday during term time from 12.30-1.30pm. Practitioners are contracted each term.

We require a practitioner with the following attributes:

  • Experience of delivering a high energy mixed dance style class to mixed abilities of 11-15 year olds.
  • Experience of inspiring people and retaining participants throughout a programme.
  • A current Enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) certificate, First Aid certificate, Safeguarding Children certificate and an Equality and Diversity certificate, or are willing to undertake these courses at their own cost.

Payment will be £25 per hour.

Start Date: Saturday 21 April 2018

Assistant required for Ballet Class

Groups required for Unity Dance Platform

Do you have a group who would love to dance on our stage? For fun, fitness and/ or to preserve cultural heritage?

We are hosting our first ‘Unity Dance Platform’ and would like to invite you to be a part of it.

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for groups who are based in and around Newcastle/ Gateshead who have never danced on our stage before. Open to dance groups of all ages: 7+ to adult.

If you have a dance group already, that is great, or if you are a group of people who would like to dance – we can work with you at your venue to create a new piece.

Applications open for BDT’s ELITE Training Programme 2018/2019

Experience the professional dancing scene in the vivid and dynamic city of BUDAPEST.
Learn contemporary dance from our comany members and also famous international teachers. Classical ballet, contemporary and repertoire classes are held 5 times a week, from Monday to Friday.

Requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years old by the 3rd September 2018. The course is suitable for school leavers, students or experienced performers, and dancers aiming to continue their professional development.
Applicants must have experience in every day training previously, to be able to fulfil the classes both physically and mentally.

The audition for BDT’s ELITE Training Programme 2018/19 is an OPEN audition.
It will be held by video audition.

Candoco Dance Company are seeking an exceptional and experienced individual to work in collaboration with the Artistic Co-Directors and take the lead on strategic planning for Candoco, articulating and aligning our vision internally and externally in accordance with our mission to produce creatively ambitious and high-quality contemporary dance. The role assumes joint responsibility with the Artistic Co-Directors for all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations and reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
