Ticket Office Assistant
Dance City are looking for friendly, welcoming and confident individuals to work on the ticket office across both our venues in Sunderland and Newcastle. This will involve working alone.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and will thrive working in a busy and dynamic environment.
As well as working at our established venue in Newcastle city centre we will be looking for individuals to work at our sister site, The Fire Station, in Sunderland. Dance City opened two new dance studios within this venue in January 2018. Staff will need to work independently as the first point of contact for all customers and visitors to the studios. We encourage applications from those who are based in the Sunderland area.
We particularly encourage applications from those who self-identify as black, Asian, minority ethnic, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or disabled.
We are looking for two people to work weekly to cover the following shifts:
Mondays 3.30pm-9.30pm Newcastle
Tuesdays 4.30pm-9.30pm Sunderland
Wednesdays 4.30pm-8.30pm (January-March only) Newcastle
Saturdays 8.30am-4.30pm Sunderland
And also one weekend in every three:
Saturdays 8.30am-5.30pm Newcastle
Sundays 10.00am-5.30pm Newcastle
(Weekends for Spring term are: 25th & 26th Jan, 15th & 16th Feb, 12th & 13th Mar, 28th & 29th Mar).
Other shifts will be available to pick up as and when.
In your application form you will be prompted to indicate which shifts you would be interested in. We are looking to appoint before Christmas and have candidates ready to start on the rota from Monday 6th January.
There are three terms which run across the year, for 2020 these will be:
Spring – Monday 6th January – Sunday 5th April
Summer – Monday 20th April – Sunday 19th July
Autumn/Winter – Monday 7th September – Sunday 20th December
Shifts may be available during the holiday periods too, as Dance City is still open, but we cannot guarantee exact hours.
To apply please download and complete the application form and the equal opportunities monitoring form below and return to Lynsey McEwen at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please refer to the job description and person specification when completing your application.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 28th November at midday.
Interviews will be held on Monday 2nd December in Newcastle.
