Theresa Poulton, artist, is honouring African American dancer Pearl Primus, who transformed the landscape of American and African dance with powerful protest dances, by presenting a large-scale, text-based, polychromatic painting influenced by African style geometric prints on the walls of the Dance City building.

There are going to be multiple opportunities to get involved in dance, watch live performances and observe and talk with artists as they rehearse in studios. There will also be food and refreshments from The Seven Bridges, located inside the Dance City building.

The Late Shows is a free event spanned across two days and include Ouseburn, Gateshead and Newcastle with a free bus to take you around venues. You can find out more about The Late Shows by visiting their website below.
