Lizzie is a dance and theatre artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne, working on a variety of choreography, performance and participation projects regionally, nationally and internationally.

She trained at London Studio Centre, graduating in 2013 with a First Class BA Honours in Theatre Dance. Following this, she took part in Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s 5-month programme and Gaga Intensive with Batsheva Dance Company in Israel.

Lizzie’s work as a choreographer is marked by an interest in human behaviour, exploring actions, reactions and interactions of the everyday. Working in both live and film performance, she’s interested in combining elements of dance, text and song, creating sensitive, humorous and thought-provoking work.

Collaboration is key to informing her practice as a choreographer, working across art forms with companies, artists and collectives such as dramaturg, producer and theatre practitioner Rosa Postlethwaite, experimental visual arts collective Cooking with Three and independent cinema Tyneside Cinema.

As a performer, Lizzie has worked with companies and artists such as Rosie Kay Dance Company, State of Grace, Coney, Alys North, Circus Central, Let’s Circus, Peter Groom Dance-Theatre and Not So Silent: Dance Theatre. Most recently, she’s been working with Rosie Kay Dance Company, performing in the UK tour of MK Ultra in Spring 2017.

Lizzie often incorporates participatory processes into her practice, within her own work as a choreographer and for other companies such as Circus Central’s Youth Circus, Cirque Bijou’s The Umbrella Project and Coney’s Local Agency.

Lizzie’s most recent works include To Suit, Millionfish, Fawn and Dancing with My Dad, with support from Arts Council England, Dance City and Northumberland Arts Development.
