Residency Opportunity – Yorkshire Dance

Yorkshire Dance offers studio time in our building in Leeds to dance artists who are researching & developing new work. Priority is given to artists who live and work in Yorkshire or have a strong commitment and connection to the Yorkshire region or the North. You can apply for 1 or 2 weeks of studio residency time.

Yorkshire Dance is particularly interested in supporting proposals, which reflect our artistic policy and

  • reflect developments in current contemporary performance practice and seek to develop the field of choreography and dance
  • proposals which emphasise innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations
  • proposals which demonstrate a strong and realistic desire to consider connection with the public, audiences or participants and/or those which demonstrate other partnership support

If you would like to apply for a residency with Yorkshire Dance, please fill in and submit the form below.

Applications submitted by the end of each calendar month will be discussed at the beginning of the following month. You will be contacted once a decision has been made on your application.

We recommend that you apply at least 3 month in advance of your planned project phase. On occasion we might have studio time availability at shorter notice, which we will advertise through our social media channels.

We would encourage you to have a one to one meeting with our Artist Development Producer, Tanya Steinhauser or Creative Projects Assistant (Producing) Megan Hamber, who will happily offer support and advise on the planning of your project and/or funding application before you apply for a residency in our studio.
